Here we have compiled fabric care instructions to help you ensure a long life for your garment. As with all natural material, great care will result in positive benefits.
Linen
‘Swift’ Apron, ‘Rye’ Dungarees, ‘Wren’ Apron, ‘Field’ Dress, ‘Turnastone’ & ‘Dorstone’ Scarves
AVOID HIGH TEMPERATURES WHEN WASHING AND DRYING.
Washing and drying at high temperatures will damage linen fibres, which can result in shrinkage and faster wear and tear
USE A MILD DETERGENT
Our garments are all pre-washed and shrunk using an eco detergent to be kind to the fabric, and the environment.
KEEP WASHING TO A MINIMUM
As with any fabric, excess washing will result in damage over time
COOL HAND WASH
Where possible cool hand wash your linen, this will extend the life of your garment., and keep the fabric fibres stronger for longer. If you do decide to machine wash, keep on a low heat (below 30°) and keep the spin cycle as low as possible.
DRY NATURALLY - AWAY FROM DIRECT HEAT & BRIGHT LIGHT
Never tumble dry your garment, and keep away from heat in the drying process to avoid shrinkage. We advise drying your garment on a hanger, clothes line or flat, and out of direct sunlight to avoid bleaching and colour damage.
IF YOU CHOSE TO IRON - DO SO WHEN SLIGHTLY DAMP
This will relax the fibres and make the ironing process a little easier. Alternatively if you're okay with linens natural character and propensity to crease then there is no need to iron at all, many of the creases that turn up once the garment has dried will relax with body heat when worn.
IF YOUR GARMENT HAS LEATHER SYCAMORE STRAPS - REMOVE BEFORE WASHING.
They don’t like to be washed so keep them happy by keeping them dry!
