Victoria Whitfield
Designer Seamstress
Victoria is the creative force driving Field & Found, the designer and maker who founded the business in the late summer of 2014.
With over two decades of experience as a seamstress and designer, and as an avid advocate of sustainable fashion; she is passionate about creating well designed, covetable, low-impact clothing and workwear. Clothing that can be worn every day as a part of a well loved staple wardrobe.
Design Ethos
Every handmade piece in the range is produced with great care and attention to detail; from design, through to pattern cutting, sewing and finishing.
Victoria’s ethos is strongly rooted in the principals of practicality, longevity, beauty and sustainability. She uses natural fabrics that are sourced for their provenance and quality, that handle and age well, to create garments contemporary in design with a classical British edge.
Victoria shares her time between her studio shop in the picturesque book-town of Hay-on-Wye, and her home studio, a tinyhouse hand built by her partner Simon.
Shop & Studios
Tiny House
Leather workshop & Design Space, Winter sewing workshop.
Made by Victoria’s partner Simon, using a combination of locally sourced timber and reclaimed materials, the tinyhouse studio is just 16 ft long, fully Off-Grid and powered by a bank of solar panels throughout the year. In the Summer months it works as Victoria leatherwork & design space, in the colder months the tinyhouse is a fully functioning sewing workshop.
